October 30, 2006: Back from the dead!
So. The site was down due to a catastrophic server crash - the hard drive was damaged. It's taken me this long to recover the data, sadly. And the backend is still not in place, so comments are disabled. But the mixer's back up!

May 15, 2005: Fresh new color-mixing goodness
Kim Jensen, the original author of ColorMatch 5k, has come up with a tasty new version, called ColorBlender — It’s very slick, and has some great features, such as “Direct Editing” of individual colors, Pantone suggesting, and color variations. Go check it out!

April 27, 2005: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
And with that, the server returns. I’m not sure what happened with it - apparently it was eating its own head about 2 hours after being restarted. Seems to be sorted out now.
In other news, Patrick Gotthard has come up with a fantastic java version of CMR - Check it out! Unfortunately, the page itself is in German, but it’s still very easy to use. I should have posted about this much earlier - and I thought I had. But checking through my mail and backups, I can see I hadn’t. Sorry about that, Patrick!

March 24, 2005: Pantone® colors
I’ve had many people email me and ask about support for Pantone® colors. Sadly, the short answer is “not possible”. Pantone® is a color library, and as such, does not have a method to directly convert RGB colors into Pantone®. I’ve seen a few sites that have tables of Pantone® equivalents, but are merely approximations.
I’m thinking about other ideas on how to implement it.

January 06, 2005: Back up and running!
Well, everything seems to be working - the layout is a little different from the previous one, but that’s okay. (grin) I’ve checked everything, and it all seems to be functional. The new server is running nice and smooth!
You see, when the old server went down, due to that nasty little worm, I decided it was time to get a proper server, rather than just host it off a machine in my house. So, voila! The downside to this, is that it’s now costing me about $150 a month more for the server.
Alas, now I need to come up with more income. The Google ads are doing okay, but I can’t count on them. Same with donations - I’ve had a few, but not enough to make ends meet.
So here’s what I can do - If you’re in need of some hosting, on a dedicated server (it’s mine, all mine!), drop me a line. I’m thinking, $10 a month for 200 megs of space, with Mysql/PHP/Perl, and domain hosting, on a 2.8G P4 system. Oh yes - I don’t have any bandwidth limits, so why should you?

January 03, 2005: Rebuilding!
As you can see, the server is back up. I’m slowly rebuilding the site. Most of it is pretty straightforward, since it’s all using the same template. It’s just the colormixer itself. So please, bear with me as I finish rebuilding this site.
